Industry Experience:

Woods Hole Group, Falmouth, MA, Coastal Engineer/Modeler     August 2014 – 2016
  • Hydrodynamic modeling of the effects of storm surge/tidal interaction for Boston Harbor during the next century.  Model used is ADCIRC with storm meteorological conditions.  Project is focused on understanding the dependence on storm duration versus tidal interaction with respect to maximum predicted surge levels.

  • Field data collection and numerical modeling for a salt marsh near Slaughter Beach, Delaware.  Responsibilities include design and implementation of field operations to gather water levels, velocities, salinity, and temperature data, as well as model setup and operation using the CMS-Flow and CMS-Wave models (USACE).  Objectives are to establish current tidal regime within the area of concern and determine mitigating alternatives to restore tidal flushing to the damaged marsh.

Shell Oil Company, Houston, TX, Intern                                       June-September 2008
  • Analyzed experimental data for submarine fans produced by turbidity currents.  Analysis was completed using the software, Petrel, and examined the sedimentary structures produced by sediment-driven density currents.
